Earlier this week the Knicks traded Dennis Smith Jr. and a 2021 second round draft pick to Detroit for the 2010-11 MVP, Derrick Rose. According to Knicks beat reporter Ian Begley of SNY, Rose told Pistons’ head coach Dwayne Casey, “Coach, I’ve only got so many miles left in my legs. I want to make sure I go to a situation where I may have a chance to make the playoffs this year.”

The Spurs entering the 2020-2021 NBA season had a lot of questions up in the air about how they would play as a unit and if they would end up in another playoff run, without having their “Superstar” to run the game around.
The end of the bubble saw the Spurs not in the playoffs last season, a first time in many years that a Spurs team under Coach Gregg Popovich has been unable to get into the playoffs. He has seen a lot of playoff success over the years with the “Big 3” of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker.

The Celtics entered the 2020-2021 campaign with one key flaw, and that flaw was having someone who could score off the bench. Losing Gordon Hayward was a big loss for the second-unit, and with Kemba Walker sidelined for the foreseeable future, the C’s needed some kind of punch off of the bench.
The Celtics drafted Payton Pritchard with the 26th-overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft. The four-year starter from Oregon was someone who had a great amount of success at Oregon. Prichard finished his tenure having the third most points in school history, he had the second most steals in school history, and had the most assists in school history During his senior season, Prichard averaged 20.5 points per game, shooting almost 47% from the floor. But, despite his college accolades, getting selected in the mid-to-late 20s would make it an uphill battle for Prichard to succeed.
