Two Commonwealth villains down, only one to go. This episode might be one of the best of season 11. I give “What’s Been Lost” a five out of five stars! I really didn’t expect Lance to die this early in season 11 C but here we are. A lot happened in this episode that is important for the rest of the series and beyond. All of the group got kidnapped by the Commonwealth expect for Daryl, Carol, and Yumiko. They were sent on a bus to an undisclosed location and they will have to escape somehow. We also got another flashback scene for the opening scene, narrated by Judith. I really think we are going to get these for the rest of season 11. All of them connect to what the episode is going to be about for the week, so we better get a Rick Grimes and Michonne montage for episode 24 or heads are going to roll…
Daryl, Carol, and Lance Form an Alliance
Daryl and Carol has to save the rest of the group that was taken from the Commonwealth but calls for an unexpected ally. Carol suggests to break Lance out of jail because he would know where they took them but Daryl thinks its a bad idea. If Negan can work with the group after being let out of jail, why can’t Lance? Ultimately, they break him out of jail, but see something inside the cell first. Lance successfully fed Sebastian that walker that Pamela wanted him to and changed him for the worse. While breaking him out of jail, Daryl and Carol get separated but Daryl saves Carol from a few walkers out on the road. While talking, Lance brings up a train that the Commonwealth most likely took the group with and they should get on that train to see where they are. Lance wants to go with them but Daryl and Carol do not trust his motives, so they decide to spare him and let him go in the opposite direction. However, Lance picked up a Commonwealth gun and tried to shoot them, but Carol shot him in the neck with an arrow. This killed Lance and left him to turn back into a walker, while Daryl and Carol drove away towards the train location. I didn’t expect Lance to die this early in season 11 C. Josh Hamilton’s (Lance) acting in this episode was the best and was one of the best “two-faced” villains that we had in The Walking Dead universe. I thought he was going to be the key to connect the CRM with the group, but I still had him dead in my death predictions. My death predictions are looking pretty good with Lance and Sebastian already dead. Although, the train car could be the connecting factor of how Daryl gets to Europe or how Maggie and Negan gets to New York for their spinoff shows in the future.
Yumiko & Eugene vs. The Commonwealth
Eugene is finally slated to go to trial for the death of Sebastian Milton. Pamela wants Yumiko to side with the Commonwealth and help them in the trial but Yumiko has other plans. During the initial speech, Yumiko first sides with the Commonwealth by shouting out Tomi and Pamela, but shocks Pamela by concluding her speech by telling the community that she is going to help Eugene in his defense. Yumiko is definitely going to be fired but she isn’t going to turn her back on her friends. Pamela also told her that Connie is in danger and was taken by the Commonwealth, so I don’t like her chances to survive the next two episodes because she will have one of the biggest targets on her back. I also don’t like Tomi’s chances either because he was highlighted in the speech and Pamela knows that he is her brother. Although, I don’t know if it makes sense for the community to kill or imprison one of their surgeons, but anything is possible for The Walking Dead, especially when there are only four more episodes in the main series.
