The promo trailer for “Rendition” is weird. The synopsis for episode 4 is Daryl and Dog get captured by the Reapers; they are taken to the Meridian and reconnect with a familiar figure from their past. You find out that after the opening scene in episode 3, Daryl and Dog is captured by the Reapers and taken to the Meridian. You meet the leader of the Reapers, Pope. Pope is a strange character. He looks like JP Morgan with his mustache, but his accent is badass. You see Daryl escape the Reapers but he must get captured again by the end of the episode because it is shown him running around with his crossbow, unless this is how he gets captured in the woods by them in the first place. This gives me season 3 vibes when Daryl and Merle are in Woodbury and have to escape. I either believe that Daryl is going to try to escape with a certain character that will return in this episode or stay with the Reapers until Maggie and Negan get there and then try to get that character to come with them back to Alexandra.
Who is that certain character you may ask? The character that is going to return in episode 4 is Leah. As we know, Daryl and Leah have a complicated relationship but she is the reason why Dog is with him today, so we can’t fault her too much. I can fault AMC by letting Daryl in a romantic relationship in season 10 episode 18, for the first time ever. I thought that didn’t fit his character but here we are. I can bet all the money in the world that the character is Leah and she is apart of the Reapers. The promo image above is when Daryl and Dog see that that girl with the knife in her hand is Leah. Leah and Daryl are obviously going to have some buried feelings for each other. Maybe Pope is going to test Leah’s loyalty by making her hurt Daryl and maybe Pope sees something in Daryl and wants him to take him under his wing, like Negan did with the Saviors and tells him to hurt Leah. I wonder if Dog is going to run up to Leah when he sees her since he was hers in the first place. Maybe this is also where you hear Dog getting hurt in the season 11 trailer, by Leah or some other Reaper to test Daryl on what he will do at the Meridian. All I know, I can’t wait to for Sunday to see what the Meridian finally looks like and the reunion of Daryl, Leah, and Dog!
