The Walking Dead: World Beyond dropped a bombshell of news when they released the season 2 trailer of their show. As we know, World Beyond is a stand alone, 2 season show that gives us information about the CRM. The CRM is the community that Jadis was apart of before she came to the main Walking Dead show and that is where she brought Rick after their “disappearance” after season 9 episode 5. The news was that Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) is going to be on the show. In the trailer at the end, she is shown saying “My new purpose is to make a new era on this planet. I hope to catch up while I am here.”
Not going to lie, I watched episode 1 of World Beyond and then I was checked out, but if Jadis is going to be on this show, I have to watch it for the future of Rick Grimes. I believe that Jadis will not tell the kids of World Beyond where Rick is or who he even is because no one knows him, but Jadis will give us more information of the CRM. We know that Jadis and the CRM made a sinister arrangement with each other. They’d provide resources like food if Jadis gave them captured survivors and recently infected test subjects. This is how Jadis and Rick went on the helicopter after his final episode. Years have gone by in the show (and in real life) and the only clue about Rick’s fate was a pair of his boots and his cellphone, which Michonne found on an island in Maryland.
Scott Gimple, head creative of all things Walking Dead confirmed, “In our story, years have passed—we’ll get hints of what happened with that fateful helicopter ride and learn Jadis has new allies and alliances; she is a big part of connecting the CRM and Three Circles mythology that’s seen throughout all three series. We can’t wait to share it all with fans of the TWDU.” There won’t be a lot of major news of Rick Grimes on season 2 of World Beyond, but hopefully it answers the question where Rick and Jadis have been for the last 7+ years. The Rick Grimes movies are still slated to come out, but fans are losing interest fast since it has been almost 3 years of little to no updates.
