Another Sunday down, another Sunday to go. Hard to believe that we are already three weeks into the mini 10C season. This week we are featured with Aaron and Father Gabriel. I love Aaron’s character in this show. He is one of my favorite “new” (even though he arrived in season 5) characters. I also love Father Gabriel. I thought he was going to die in episode 16 from the final Whisperer attack but thankfully Maggie saved him. Episode 19 is titled, “One More.” The episode description is “With Maggie's map, Gabriel and Aaron search for food and supplies to bring back to Alexandria; checking out one more location, they chance upon a stash; faith is broken and optimism is fragmented when they are put to the ultimate test.” This episode picks off after episode 17 where Maggie decides to come stay home permanently. She gives Aaron and Gabriel a map of everywhere she went into the area and they search for supplies they can use back at home.
The first promo we get is the trailer that airs at the end of credits of episode 18. The trailer shows a whole spew of stuff. It highlights the characters Aaron and Gabriel, which we already knew about. It also shows us them looking for supplies from Maggie’s map. They wonder if things are ever going to go back to “normal.” It also gives you two pieces of dialogue. Aaron says, “We haven’t helped people in a long time.” This is probably referring to the only person they helped recently was Lydia. Lydia was the daughter of the Whisperer leader, Alpha. They saved Lydia and brought her in as one of their own. The other piece of dialogue shown is when Gabriel says, “Evil people aren’t exception to the rule. They are the rule.” I think this represents that the only people they can’t help is evil people. Evil people are already too far gone but many people can argue how do you know that people are evil. It just depends on their character and personality and I believe that Gabriel and Aaron are two of the best to judge someone’s character. Throughout the trailer it also shows Gabriel looking at Bibles, possibly going back to his routes as a priest, Aaron pointing a gun to his own head, I think playing Russian Roulette with himself, and the villain for this episode, which I will get into in the next trailer…
The next trailer we get is the sneak peak we get at the end of AMC’s talk show about The Walking Dead, Talking Dead. It highlights the new villain for this episode. We get a good look at him in this teaser. He talks with Gabriel about eating a boar and takes off his hair. I think this is weird because it doesn’t seem like he is wearing a wig. I predict that he is either just the villain for this episode or he is a part of the group we got introduced in episode 17, the Reapers. This is because Aaron and Gabriel is searching with Maggie’s map and the Reapers were on Maggie’s trail so they know where she was. There is not a lot to go on in this trailer so we will have to see on Sunday who this mystery man really is…
The next trailer we get is on AMC’s Youtube channel. We get insight on why this episode is called “One More.” This is because after Aaron and Gabriel keep failing to find supplies from Maggie’s map, Gabriel wants to check out one more spot. I think this is the spot that they find the villain from the previous trailer. Aaron wants to go home to see his daughter and brings up Gabriel’s daughter too. I completely forgot that they had children. Aaron’s daughter, Gracie, is the adopted baby that Rick took from the Savior outpost when Rick killed her real father back in season 8. Gabriel is “Coco’s” daughter that he is raising with Rosita. However, he is not the real father, with Siddiq having the child with Rosita. Gabriel should have listened to Aaron about going back home after this failed attempt on finding more supplies. Gabriel’s “One More” is going to be costly because I think this is where most of the plot takes place and where they meet the mystery man in the last trailer…
The last promo we get is the opening scene of episode 19. The shots in this opening are breath taking. All of the flowers and nature shown is so beautiful. When Aaron and Gabriel are fighting walkers, there are blood dripped onto them from the walker blood. I think this represents the humanity in the world being lost and never going to come back. All the things beautiful in this world are being destroyed by the “new world.” As the scene goes along they are following Maggie’s map that she gave to them. In the opening scene you see how detailed it is. She has markings on every building and says how many people and what are inside. However, the one location that they went to, it is not what it seems on the map. The place seems burned down and there are three dead bodies with flowers on top of each other. I think this is the case where Aaron and Gabriel went so far on their two week journey. I think this episode will show every place on Maggie’s map and it is turned to be empty or not what is seemed. It will show them getting more annoyed as each unsuccessful place they go to. Based on the opening to this episode alone, I am really excited for this episode. It can’t get worse than the previous episode. And I know I said I was really excited for episode 18 too but if you watched “Find Me”, you know how much that episode sucked. I am going in with tempered expectations for “One More” but I am excited to see what secondary characters can do and not having the show being dependent on strong characters like Daryl, Carol, or Negan…
