Finally an episode that doesn’t look like too much filler. I think this episode is going to be really important for the Commonwealth storyline and season 11. Episode 20 picks up where episode 16 ended with Eugene, Princess, Ezekiel, and Yumiko get swarmed by the “stormtrooper” characters. I think that these characters are connected to the Commonwealth in someway. A side note before I get into the preview of “Splinters,” I think that this location that the episode is being filmed in the same location where Terminus was in season 5. I think that it is cool that The Walking Dead reuses locations they have already been in like the hospital that Beth died in, turning into an escape location in season 10, or the same river that Sophia went missing in season two, to the same place where Shiva died in season 8.
The first promo we get is the trailer for the episode that airs after the credits of the previous episode on AMC. It shows the group getting swarmed by the “stormtroopers,” like how episode 16 ended. They begin to beat down Yumiko and throwing Princess captive in one of the abandoned boxcars. This is the same boxcar that the group was thrown into in season 5 in Terminus where Rick said the best line ever, “They are fucking with the wrong people.” They force Princess to talk but I don’t think she is going to tell them any valuable information. There are many rumors going around that Princess could be a spy but I don’t buy that at all. I think she is going to be the same as she is in the comic book. It also shows Ezekiel and Eugene trying to break out Princess from the boxcar which I think they will be successful at.
The next promo is from AMC’s Walking Dead talk show, Talking Dead. You can see in this promo the charisma of Princess and the actress, Paola Lázaro. You can tell about how she answers her questions. It kind of reminds me of how Eugene or Abraham talks, with memorable quotes of them in every episode that they are in. Also, whoever is voicing the “stormtrooper,” they have to hire him for an audiobook. His voice is amazing. There is not much to go off of except you know that Yumiko is hurt and missing from the “stormtroopers.” They do not tell Princess what happened to her or if she is okay. I believe that nothing is going to happen to Yumiko and she is going to returned to them at the end of the episode or they are going to have to rescue her somehow.

The next promo we have is from AMC’s Youtube channel. Again, there is not a lot to go off of in this promo. You see Princess in the boxcar by herself and she plans on what to do and how to get out. You also see a lot more “stormtroopers” surrounding the area. One important note about this promo is she lists off a lot of different cities and randomly too. I think this is a coping device that Princess has to calm her down in stressful situations. I don’t know how it started but you can clearly see after she listed all of those cities, she went back to “normal.”
The last promo we get is the opening scene of episode 20, “Splinters.” You see Eugene, Yumiko, Ezekiel, and Princess get captured by the “stormtroopers.” Them seem to have an army so they aren’t to be taken lightly. The “stormtroopers” then knock out Yumiko and then separate the group into their own box car. You can hear the rest of the group get taken but it highlights Princess in her own box car. I think this episode is going to be centered around a lot of Princess because I loved her in the comic book. I want to see how she can adapt to the TV screen and based on these promos, she will become a fan favorite in no time.
