Here we go. The last preview article ever for the main show of The Walking Dead. Not going to lie, I am not ready for Sunday. I know the future of the franchise is bright with a ton of spin-off projects in the works, but it truly won’t be the same without the main show. In this article I am going to predict how The Walking Dead will end. We know it is supposed to have an extended run time, but that’s it. I have successfully avoided spoilers for the last episode to this point. However, I will put this out there. Watch the show past the end credits because I guarantee we will get a end credit scene involving Rick Grimes and maybe have the possibility of seeing where Michonne went. The Walking Dead started with Rick Grimes. It is only right to end with him too. I’m not going to predict where we see Rick and in what capacity, but he will be there. As soon as the episode ends, I will write a lot of articles about him and whoever AMC decides to not kill off in episode 24. A ton of emotions for me will be on display on Sunday and I don’t know how I will take it, but just please don’t end this show on a sour note. Plus, no one talk to me Sunday night, good or bad, I will definitely be sad my favorite show of all time is finally ending for good.
What Will Happen With Pamela Milton
The big question of episode 24 is if the main villain, Pamela Milton, will die or not. If I had to guess she will not die and rather get thrown in jail for the rest of the episode and the rest of her time. She will take her son’s storyline from the comic book, when Sebastian killed Rick, and he was sent to jail for the rest of time. I had her dying at the beginning of season 11C, but with all the rest of the Commonwealth authority already getting killed, I see her being safe. It will connect with season 8 with Rick and Michonne sparring Negan, and I feel like Daryl or Eugene will spare Pamela.
The Ending Scene
With the final episode having an extended run time, I see the Commonwealth storyline being wrapped up in the first 30ish minutes and leaving the rest of the time to tie the bow on the show. One of the final scenes is going to involve Ezekiel talking to the group on how to rebuild all the communities that the Commonwealh took over, like we see in the beginning of the episode 24 trailer. However, he won’t be alone talking with the group. I can see Daryl, Maggie, or Eugene stepping up and talking with the group. The biggest surprise is Judith will end the speech. She will make it out alive from her gunshot wound in episode 23 and take Carl’s final words from the comic book. She will make the big announcement that Rick is alive and Michonne is looking for him. Obviously, this will leave the whole group shocked, but they have to get ready for the future whenever they get back. This whole 11C season was about the future and what her family wanted for her and this is highlighted with all of the montage scenes in the beginning of every 11C episode. However, a dark horse person to say this news would be Virgil, since he is the last person to see Michonne and tell the rest of the group about his boat. The final scene will probably just pan to every community we have left and see the rebuilding start for the future. I want a whole montage scene of every community we have been to this point at the end, but I don’t think that’s realistic. To get back to Judith’s speech, she will either end her speech or the whole show by saying “We are not The Walking Dead” like Carl said in the final moments in the comic book.
The Spin-off Shows
Episode 24 is going to have to set up both Daryl’s spin-off show and Maggie’s & Negan’s spin-off show. We probably won’t get any reason how Daryl gets to Europe but we might get a why. Someone might get captured that is close to him and he will have to save them, like Carol, Connie, RJ, or Judith. Judith might tell the group in the last scene that Rick is alive and Michonne is finding him, so Daryl might go to Europe because there is a clue about them. Daryl also might get captured himself and will lead his story to Europe. Daryl’s main plot of going to Europe is confusing since there is no logical way for him to get there in an apocalypse, but Maggie’s & Negan’s spin-off show is less confusing. We know they are going to New York and episode 24 is going to set up why they have to go. Hershel Jr. is going to get captured, Annie will get captured, Annie will have complications with their baby, or a combination of the three. “Dead City” will premiere first so we will get more news on that in the next coming months.
