The Book of Boba Fett is set to release tomorrow, kicking off a much anticipated collection of Star Wars shows set to release in 2022. To get ready for this premiere lets take a look to see how we got here.
Boba Fett is set to continue right where we left him at the end of The Mandalorian, where he killed Bib Fortuna and took the thrown of the former ruler of the criminal underworld, Jabba the Hutt. As the leader of the underworld Boba now has a lot of power that he can use to influence the Galaxy.
Judging by the trailers, it looks like Boba is going to try to align a lot of the criminal syndicates under his rule. What does Boba want? Power? Money? I am not really sure.
There are a lot of possibilities. However, there is another angle that I want to explore. Now, don’t get me wrong this is a long shot and I might look like the crazy person trying to connect the lines together on the cork board.
Who does Boba absolutely hate the most in the entire Galaxy? The old Jedi Master that killed his father Mace Windu. Wait, isn’t he dead? Maybe, but Star Wars has taught me that no one that falls out of building is dead. But, like I said, I might be looking like the crazy guy connecting the dots. As it does present itself as a slim possibility, I can’t rule it out.
A realistic plot for The Book of Boba Fett is going to be one where he takes over the criminal underworld. Judging by what we know about the underworld this will not be the easiest thing in the world. There are already major crime syndicates that are established like the Pikes, Crimson Dawn, and Black Sun. All of these groups have a lot of power and will not take kindly to Boba’s power grab.
There is a particular group that has peaked my interest. Currently, Crimson Dawn has been growing power in the comic book series Marvel’s Star Wars: Crimson Reign, which takes place before Return of the Jedi. The current leader of Crimson Dawn is Qi’ra from Solo a Star Wars Story. She could be the major antagonist to Boba, due to the fact that over the last year Lucasfilm has been building up Qi’ra’s post Solo story.
To wrap everything up I have two major hopes. A realistic hope and a longshot hope. The realistic hope is that we get a lot of Qi’ra in the story. The longshot hope is that Boba gets his revenge against Mace. There are a lot of possibilities for this show that are very exciting and I believe that it has the possibility to be a top tier show for Lucasfilm.
