Can you believe that we only have two more episodes until there is a break. I know it is crazy to think about but episode 7 looks good! I have high hopes for this episode. The synopsis for “Promises Broken” is Maggie and Elijah learn a new survival tactic from Negan; Eugene's group clears walkers to pay their fines; Yumiko interviews for an upper-class job; Daryl learns more about Leah and the Reapers; Gabriel encounters a man of God. I will touch on the Maggie and Daryl stuff a little later but I will go over the Commonwealth stuff now because I don’t think it will be that important. Yumiko is seen with a full face of makeup and dressed nice in the trailer so I think that she is applying to be a lawyer inside the Commonwealth. I believe she will get this position in episode 8, leaving her here when Eugene, Ezekiel, and Princess goes back to Alexandra. The others at the Commonwealth have to clean up some walkers to pay back their fine of using the radio when Eugene contacted with Rosita in episode 5. You can see Ezekiel visibly weak and hurt because of his cancer in his neck. He might have to stay at the Commonwealth as well when Eugene goes back. There is a slight chance he might die before the show is over but only time will tell on that one.
Maggie and company are finally going to learn the Whisperer “trick” from Negan when he spent his time with Alpha and company. You can visibly see this in the trailer with Maggie in a Whisperer mask. Some people say that the picture above could be Lydia in the mask but I don’t see how that can add to the story. A side note, I feel bad for Lydia because I feel like she is just there in The Walking Dead. Ever since Henry died, she has no storyline and is becoming a useless character. However, I believe it is Maggie to lead some walkers to the Meridian and take their food and supplies for Alexandra. You also see the group looking down to a possible grave in the ground. Many people are speculating that it is Alden that is being buried but I believe that he won’t die until they go back for him at the Church or he will get captured by the Reapers and die at the Meridian. I believe it is one of the people from Maggie’s group, either Cole, Agatha, or Duncan that died in episode 3. Maggie could be using the Whisperer trick to gather up their bodies so she can bury them, but I think she can do that without the mask. A big question in the episode is where they got the mask in the first place because you can’t make a mask in a short amount of time. I think it is Negan’s that he had when he was with the Whisperers and just gave it to Maggie.
Oh Daryl, when are you going to get outed that you are not apart of the Reapers and really apart of Maggie’s group? This is where I believe that episode 7’s title, “Promises Broken” comes into play. Since Frost most likely told Pope everything about Daryl, it is only a matter of time before everyone else knows. I think Carver knows so I think that is Daryl’s public enemy number one. I think Carver is going to die in this episode by Daryl and Leah is going to find out. Leah will cover for him to Pope, but this is why I think Pope says in the trailer, “Think about your fallen brothers”. Daryl is going to have to come clean about everything to Leah and this why Leah points her gun to someone reluctantly. I think she points her gun at Daryl for lying to her for six plus years about living alone, having no one, and not knowing Maggie’s group. If Maggie’s Whisperer hoard isn’t the final scene, this is going to be the final scene, setting up a Leah versus Daryl showdown for episode 8 and like I have been saying all season, Leah will die in episode 8. Also, a side note on Gabriel because I haven’t covered him yet. He shows up in the trailer stalking another man of God in the Reapers. I think Gabriel will kill him after he tells him everything he needs to know because I think Gabriel has lost it. Gabriel has lost faith in God and I don’t think is ever going to bring it back, unless that Reaper shows him the way in this episode, or Pope shows him in episode 8 because I think Pope and the Reapers storyline will be done by episode 8 and Maggie and Negan will be bringing back the supplies from the Meridian in episode 9 to Alexandra and this is when they will see Alden dead in the church…
